Question Vortech Question

I'm not too familiar with superchargers on stock LS1s, so I was wondering if there is any other parts of the stock drivetrain that might need to be upgraded in order to handle the power from the vortech I hope to put on in the future. I have the Auburn differential and I think it can handle the power. I'm also fairly certain the T-56 can handle it too. I just want to know if there are any other mods that must be done to be safe from breakage.

You'll need to pin the crank or there is a good chance the pulley will spin and chew up the nose of the crank. Pay close attention to this advice, get data logging software and check knock retard at all driving situations. If knock is detected you will have to back off the timing till you have none (either through LS1edit or a dyno tune) or you'll ruin the engine in your nice new car. You never should have looked in here, it'll cost you.

don't be scared off, any qualified tuner can give you a safe tune. pinning the crank doesn't cost that much and its good insurance.

My Vortech goes in next week.

Thanks for the info guys. So all I have to worry about is pinning the crank? That makes me feel a little better about doing it.

Don't forget the driveshaft, and a driveshaft loop.
If you put sticky tires on, and your rear doesn't break, your driveshaft will be next.
