accidental wire grounding

accidental wire grounding I tapped the large pink wire under the steering column for a 12 volt source and accidentally ground it dead short to the body. Since then I have no juice at all with the ignition on. Is my computer gone or is there hopefully a fuse that I did not think of in a strange place. Sorry for posting here but I posted in the electronics section and no response ( I was somewhat impatient) Thank You in advance for any responses... Boone..

Do you have any idea what fuse at all because I looked and looked and cant find any that are blown. Also every fuse I looked at didnt sound right to me. Thanks for responding bud. Boone

Your owners manual should have a drawing/list of all the fuses in the car...That failing, as mentioned, fuseable link.
A tip: Because a fuse looks "OK", doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Test every one, individually...I've seen many that still have the wire looking OK, but it's burned at the base of the pin. [Especially w/ the cheapo Ho Chi Min stuff.]
A neat replacement for the oem fuses are the new LED equipped fuses. When they blow, the LED comes on. REALLY easy to spot.

I did not get out to work on my car today and I have been considering using those lite up fuses anyway, so maybe now is the time to just replace them all first since that only takes a small amount of time and then if thats not it chase down the fuseable link. Boone
