Need advice on a GT-45 LQ4 setup
Need advice on a GT-45 LQ4 setup I haven't been able to find out much about the GT-45 turbo's using the search. I would like to hear from some that have or are using this turbo. Is there a lot of turbo lag? How many miles have been put on it? How's it holding up? I would like close to 500rwhp. Something simple, (it's a budget build)it's just a street car. I'll probably take it to the track a few times just ta play around. Here's my setup so far
98 TA, 6.0 LQ4 w/stock 317's, Patriot Gold dual .650 springs, 03 LS6 cam, LS2 timing chain, LS6 intake & stock TB, Racetronix 255, A4 w/Vigilante 3200, 3:42 gears
What size wastegate do I need? I have an intercooler,Tial 44 BOV, 6.0 manifolds,and lots of pipe & v bands.

I had it on a 5.3 w/ 224/224 .580/.580 112 cam and it was laggy. But I also had 317 heads on it (fail).
I also put it on a stock LQ4 w/ an LS6 cam.... it was very responsive, spooled instantly. It will easily achieve your goal and then some.

I had one on a LS6 cam 6.0. 4L80E, 3.42 gears, Victor JR and elbow. 14lbs it made 600. Ran 10.70 at 131 on 17" street tires in a 3500lb car setup for autocrossing. Spooled very fast and didnt nose over. Big turbine for the compressor size.
