Here soon, I will also get the bump box. If anyone has a part number for it.
I know that it's built into the new FAST XFI. My buddy Manny has it on his Buick. I also spoke to Jeremy Marteralla (sp? I call him mozzarella) @ UPR a few months back and he was telling me about a standalone one that they had come up with by way of trying to get some rice to make boost on the line with a bigger turbo than a motor.

For your setup, get your new brakes installed and working before you go off buying all this other ****.

IMO, you shouldnt need a bump box.

Will you? Possibly, but I dont think so.

In our car, I get into the pre stage bulb and get on the brakes (ours has dual rear calipers though) and give it around 1/2 throttle. It will start to build boost and once its built enough boost, 2 things will happen. It will either start to push through the brakes into the stage beam, or if the brakes are really strong, it will WANT to push, but it cant so then you need to let it push through just enough by letting off the brakes just BARELY.

After your in the stage beam, then jump on the T/B.

Heres an example of a footbrake-to-transbrake deal

Heres a vid after we swapped to dual waste gates, no foot braking anymore at all...straight to the tree and fast spool.

Man, thanks for posting that. I wasn't planning on getting the bump box unless I couldn't get it done with the new brakes. I will see how she does with the new brakes first. I think a key point here is that you use half throttle to get it going. That got me thinking and most the time we are just flooring it because of the transbrake. However, when I practiced this last time on the street I also only used half throttle until it built boost and it hit 12lbs. That may be the key more than anything else in my set up. I may just need to use half throttle until I get the boost I want and it hits the 2 step.

Thanks for posting.

you will be switching to a glide so you will have a lower starting line ratio and your brakes will hold.

i know i cant footbrake my car in first gear without it rolling, but in second gear, i can hold it wide open all day( on a 3500 rpm 2 step) and it will get to my wastgate setting of about 11 psi and not move an inch.

do you have a 2 step?

Yes, I have a MSD 2 step. Well my brakes are not only drums but they are the original drums and pads. I know that is sad but I was trying to get no drag anywhere. lol The front discs were enough when I was only running a 108 mph. Now I need a whole lot more brake to stop the car so regardless I needed this upgrade. I have my 2 step set to 3800 for now.

No problem!

Seat time is key, you start learning more about what the car wants/needs, what it feels like, how it reacts to certains ways/things, etc etc.

Now that I look at my vid, I still thing the first vid is after we switched to dual W/G's...I cant find a vid from using the single...it definitely took longer than that to spool. Even in the second vid, im late on the reaction time b/c I was still learning the new spool time with the dual W/G's and didnt think it was at full boost yet.

Cant wait for spring and we can get this bitch on 20#'s and put some more boost in for leaving the starting line.
