Valvespring question
My brother and i are about to turbocharge our cars. We are both going to run ls6 cams, pump gas. My question is will the stock ls6 springs be ok to run or should i upgrade to aftermarket? I have a set of patriot dual gold springs i believe are good to .650. Is that too much spring to run on a ls6 cam? I appreciate the input.

We made 747rwhp with LS6 springs, we switched to 1218s and picked up zero hp anywhere. This was a stock LS2 with a 72mm turbo on it. Valve springs had 35k miles on them like the rest of the long block.
It will be an age old argument but a properly sized turbo on a engine will have zero effect on valve spring pressure. It just operates like it is on a different planet with more atmospheric pressure. There is a lot going on the other side of the valve too. Camshaft and valve train weight play more of a roll on spring pressure.
