Default Fbody coolant overflow reservoir relocation question

My turbo plumbing runs right where the coolant overflow reservoir once was, and I completely forgot that I needed to figure out what to do about that until tonight. Just looking for input on what container to use and where you placed it on your Fbody. Tried searching and couldn't find much.

Thanks!

i used one like in the second link when I was NA, I built my own out of some extra 3" aluminum tubing I had laying around because it has to go on the opposite side of the rad now that the turbo is in.

The only design requirement is that the end of the overflow hose remains submerged so that it pulls coolant back in when it cools off. It can be higher or lower than the radiator cap, it doesn't matter. It doesn't need to be sealed. When I first started up my turbo project, my overflow was the hose dropped in a half gallon milk jug sitting in front of the A/C condenser. I recommend something that holds close to two quarts or better. One quart you will have to keep a close eye on it.

I made little bit better one out of left over tubing as well with a brass hose barb screwed in near/at the bottom. I salvaged the top vent and cap from the cars original.

Thanks for the info. Now I just need to figure out where to place it...it's a bit tight up front with the intercooler, transmission cooler, stock fans, etc.

mine was one of those auto zone deals, the larger one that came with a bracket. it as mounted to the fender liner on same side still gave enough room for 4x12 air filter in front of it.

found a pic!

Yes. Your overflow hose has to enter the bottom or extend from the top so the end is always emersed. If not the system will suck air instead coolant back in when it cools off.
