LS6 cam vs stock
With that said, I've run this cam for years and love it. Makes good power too.
That's what I'm looking for - a stock-type idle. But if were only talking something like a 20hp gain, might not be worth the hassle - just add another 1 psi of boost
If you install a LS6 cam in a LS1 here's what to expect. Not much gain from idle to 4500 rpm. From 4500 - 6500 is where the gains are at. You will gain 25 maybe 30rwhp peak rwhp over the stock LS1 cam. The LS1 cam is dead at 5500, the LS6 cam will go to 6500.
Here are 2 dyno charts below. The one chart is a car with bolt-ons & a LS6 cam. The other chart (with the green lines) is a bone stock LS1 with a automatic transmission showing the difference between a LS1 cam & a LS6 cam.
