Oval Pipe Alternatives
Oval Pipe Alternatives So I've been doing some searching and reading for alternatives to an oval pipe. I've made oval pipe before by ovalizing it in a shop press. I'm looking to do something a little cleaner (other than actually purchasing it).
A little history on the project...I'm running a 3.5 inch downpipe on the driver's side and I want to tuck it up as high as possible.
I've come up with the following ideas:
1. Make a fixture and ovalize 3.5 inch pipe in a press.
2. Run two 2.5 inch pipes in parallel
3. Rip a 2.5 inch pipe along its center, and weld a strip of 2 inch pipe in between the two halves.
Opinions?
