just tell her your cam is going bad and you need a new one.

i have a freind with just a cam, intake longtubes/loudmouth he should be around 400rwhp.
cam and loud mouth may be a little to meatty for you, but with just a cam, intake exhaust you should be pushing enough power to smack around some vettes and cobras.
plus there easy/cheap mods

As mentioned tuning is the key.... IMO your compression is fine for now, i wouldn't go digging into the engine just yet. All it is fuel and timing. If the tuning is wrong, nothing under that turbo kit will last.
You can run low boost with a safe A/F and be happy....... for awhile, but like everyone is saying, once you start throwing money at FI, chances are you will never stop. It's addictive as hell.
The key to running more boost with the stock compression and not having to buy $4/gal gas to drive the car is water/alky/methanol injection. This way you can burn pump gas while you're farting around to work and stuff, and then when you want boost, the injection kicks in to make it safe........ if all goes as planned

Got the methanol kit on my car and it it badass! Lowered my intake temp 70 degrees with a 50/50 mixture and small jet. Its definately a good thing to have. Allows you to boost higher, while lowering temps and preventing detonation. Can be rigged to come on at a higher boost level...
