Help on my V2 vortech
I have a VT commodore with an LS1. The engine is on stock cam and heads. I fitted a V2 charger a while back running of the PAS pump and this caused issues with belt slip on the aux belt. So the last year with some help I have converted this to crank driven. As far as the crank drive goes it works and no jumping on the belt is a good sign.
The issue is I'm not making a lot of boost. If my latest calculations are right I am spinning my V2 at about 51k and all I manage is 4psi of boost.
Earlier I had a larger pulley on and it was running 3.5psi and about 46k spinning.
So what's the issue? my BOV not working?
The boost is not really linear it's a light rise. On my old PAS setup I made 5psi of boost not IC'd and my calculations put the blower at 51k
It seems like the boost is too low for this sort of RPM. Am I mad? should I replace my BOV( its a Bosch unit)
Could I have a leak else where??? Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Did a run and mapped this against RPM with the BOV blocked off. I'm still getting to about 3.5k theit tails off. Where could my leak be? it's not tha I can identify the pipework from the charger to the IC but not 100% cleared. Could the SC unit be at fault? Or the ls1 intake? antway to test the intake.??
Thanks
Could also be belt slip
