Default Boost needed for 500whp on stock LQ4

I have a set of Chinese T70's, .82 a/r I plan to run on my completely stock, down to the valve springs, iron headed LQ4. Using stock truck manifolds and 42lb injectors. I am only running one walbro 255 lph now but may toss another on a hobbs switch. Just wondering what others may have experienced.

I had a bone stock 2005 lq4 with 100k miles. The only thing I changed was the head gaskets and arp bolts. My car specs are below in my sig. Took it to the track and with boost was at 12.5 to 13 psi car ran 10.36@129.86 1/8 was 6.64@106.26 with a 1.57 60' that was with 15 to 16 degrees total timing and at an elevation of aprox 300' above sea level.
Using the tci horsepower calculator my car going 129mph at 3350lbs is making 570 hp. Hope this helps

FYI I upped the boost to 15 to 16 psi with same combo and tune and had a best of 10.187@132.68 1/8th was 6.533@109.51 with a 60' of 1.582

You can accomplish 500HP with ease on a stock (cam only) LQ4. What year block is this?

The block is a 2000 friend. Iron heads. The turbos may be over kill for this build, but I didn't want to use them on my 5.3. It's getting a VSracing 80mm GT instead.

Thanks a lot man. What kind of springs do you have? I may be cheap for running the stock ones but I can change them later. If so, it will be an LS6 spring and '02 cam combo.

With the stock cam, what rpm does it pull to and what intake did you use?

I had the original springs with 100k on them The only thing changed was the ls9 head gaskets and arp bolts everything else was bone stock as it came from the wrecking yard

as for the rpms, I was shifting it at around 5400 to 5600 It was definitely signing off I think starting around 5200 and I wish I would have tried some new or a little stiffer springs to see what it the difference would have been.

I am running the Edelbrock pro flo Intake

Are you currently running the proflow intake w the stock cam? Ill be running stock ls1 with 10-15lbs of boost and really like that intake.
