Jason, thanks for the information. Since it's kind of on topic, mind answering a few questions?

I've got a stock LM4 in my 944 right now. Outside of long tube headers and LS1 intake/fuel rail/injectors, the engine is bone stock. With tuning, I am looking at around 290-300rwhp. I have a 224/224 .581/.581 LSA114 waiting to be installed. Do you think 400bhp is possible with such a swap? Is this an ideal cam, or do you think I can go a bit more aggressive? Also, I was thinking of pulling the 862 heads and milling them down and doing a light port and polish. Think I could get close to 11:1 CR? How much would I have to mill to achieve such CR? Thanks!

[QUOTE=Jason Haines @ LPE;17372667]The 2002-2004 LS6 camshaft has even more lift and really should be used with lighter valves, at least if you plan to go to higher RPM (past roughly 5600-6000 rpm).

QUOTE]

Interestingly, the article did say that out of all the factory cams, they got into valve float problems with the ls2 cam. It wouldnt pull cleanly to 6500, so the pull was limited to 6200. I dont remember if this was with the stock 5.3 springs or not though.

It had the ugly truck intake. Headers. Beehive springs for all tests, but they didn't say which ones. Stock retainers.
Stock!

They also showed some Crane rockers that looked more like YT, didn't look like anything in the Crane catalog.

None of that was mentioned. I don't imagine they had a water pump or alt, it was on an engine dyno. Also, EFI was by Holley.
