Default Mondo Bypass valve silencer

I had recently converted my maf to pressure side so I could bypass to atomsphere.
This proved to lower my cruise IAT by 40' and also kept the blower much cooler.
However the air roar at cruise was VERY loud as this Mondo valve flows some serious cfm..
So yesterday I built a silencer,A mini glass pack.
It's your basic perforated core with fiberglass packing . It is VERY effective at silencing the bypassed air. Can't even hear it now.
Not a performance device but sure makes the car more enjoyable to drive on the street.
Simple to make from common items.

Looks neat. Interesting to see such dramatic temp. So how did you convert the maf to pressure side and where did you relocate to?

sweeet!

you beat me to the punch. I was thinking after I move my stuff around if the bypass was to loud I was gonna try building something similar. I used to run supertrapps as my mufflers thus having the idea. glad to hear it works!

you da man.

Trojan T/A, when I built my water/air intercooler I moved the maf from draw through to right before the T.B. The 40 degree drop in IAT is compared to my old draw through non intercooled combo. The intercooler would remove much of that heat at cruise but the blow through with bypass to atomsphere is much more thermally efficient for the entire system.

Blackbird, Never thought about using supertrap disks. I am sure it would work out well. Cool idea.
If your interested in making something like I did ,e-mail me.

That looks interesting....

I know my ATI race ready is loud as hell too at cruise, I can hear the air blowing off the side of the road when I'm driving
