Torque converter stall
Let's say that your engine make 95% of hp from 4800 to 5800 rpm. That gives you a 1000 rpm range to work with. That's enough range for the converter to properly couple through the quarter mile. For that example, a 4800 stall (under full boost) is a good choice.
