turbo oil drain question
turbo oil drain question I'm doing a mockup for my twin turbo chevelle and have a question about drain line fitting and angles. I'm tapping a holley oil pan for dual drains. i was trying to fit -10an 45 degree 1/2npt fittings but its very tight on frame clearance.
Can i use a -10 90 degree 1/2 npt fitting ?
A couple people have told me not to use 90 degree fitting in the drain back if i can avoid it.

Yes a 90 can be done but its not optimal in some cases it can cause oil to back up AN10 should be more than large enough to prevent backup in the drain line make sure no portion of the drain hose is lower than the fitting if gravity draining, make sure the fitting has an upward angle when installed(like a 11 or 1 o-clock position when looking at oil pan from the side).

I have a twin turbod chevelle also. I did -10's but used a 45 and a straight. I tried 90's but mine was backing up. Using the moroso pan this time and tapped the front of my timing chain cover in the bottom L and R hand corners with -10's and 45's. Ill update once I see how it does.
