open down pipe ok?

open down pipe ok? i did something to my truck 
, got it all ready for the track and decided to go race this guy first. i drove about 15miles with an open down pipe.
the pipe is a good 2'long, probably 3' to the closest valve. it was about 50deg out. just as i was geting to the spot it started running crapy, lucky for me it started sprinkling and i got out of the race for that but by the time i got home it is barely running. like on just a few cylinders.
i am waiting for it to cool so i can pull the plugs and do a compresion test. it should be ok to run an open downpipe shouldn't it?

i have it tuned to about 11.5-1 with an open cut out, open down pipe shouldn't be tooo much difernet since the cut out is only about 1 foot from the downpipe.
i have it in open loop and it has been for a few weeks, no o2's at all. running ok. i do put in the wideband when i want to tune and that is about it.

grrrrr, found the problem, got a broken velve spring, i hope that valve still seals cause i dont feel like pulling these heads.
is there any way an open down pipe could be linked to a broken valve spring? sure wouldn't think so. just decided to happen right now i think.
