Is a 98 ls1 block fine to run forced induction?

Pretty sure the cylinder walls are thinner or made of a weaker material on the early LS engines as they cant be bored as far as the later LS1's 3.903 vs 3.905( not much difference but there is a reason for this, you can get away with that to just make sure its not honed out passed 3.903. Cylinder walls should be sufficient for 12 psi. But you will probably get bored and turn it up more.

Personally I like the iron blocks as they can be rebuilt and punched out, and there stronger. If you are going to spend the money for a forged bottom end why not get a stronger block. The aluminum blocks are still pretty stout, there have been several on here that have pushed them over 1K HP.
