thoughts on 416 lq4 with p1sc
i have a 416cui lq4 with ported AFR heads. it was built with copper head gaskets, o-ringed head/block, 8.5CR and the previous owner wanted to use a F2 on this engine. when i bought it it just had a ls1 controller and a vic jr. intake and i first planned on using it N/A with a Ez-efi to possibly replace the all aluminum 540BBC in my 69 pro-touring camaro. but things changed and i found a p1sc in great shape for little money so i decided against the bigblock and now i need to get everything ready for at least 600rwhp. never had any contact with EFI so i would be happy if someone could guide me the right direction. The system iīm gonna use is a Holley HP EFI, Victor Jr. EFI with edelbrock fuel rails and 60lbs/h injectors. The P1SC has got a 4.63" pulley but i donīt have any clue how much boost itīs gonna make and what pulley to use to max it out. Fuel system is currently a tanks inc 69 camaro tank with a internal walbro 255 pump but iīm gonna replace it with a 400lph cause thatīs gonna be a plug and play situation and should support my goal and leaves room for a little more to grow. so is my goal realistic with that setup? i have most of the EFI parts ordered but i can still swap parts like injectors. any input or estimates on HP are appreciated.
thanks,
pat

damn i got that charger from a 07 C5 with all the brackets and stuff.it was reverse rotation/self contained and i never thought that it is going to choke the engine, and reading over several postings doing 600+rwhp i never thought it could be too small to reach what i planned.

I have an HKE built 427LSX running the D1 from my factory LS3 (#5 ringlands let go)
Anyway, the D1 is overtasked on this motor and am at 14psi on next to the smallest pulley....3.55"
I was able to pull 758 on a Mustang dyno but thats all she's got. Im going twin PT6766s in a week!!!!
I say run what ya brung and see what it'll do. I think 600 is doable on the P1, just realized it will not be near optimum. You should be able to squeeze 8 psi out of it if not more. If it doesnt work out, should sell easy enough then go F1. I know i had a line formed when i mentioned i was selling my D1SC. Sold it over 2 months ago and its still on the car.

selling thatīs a word i hate here in europe specially in austria i have a garage full of performance parts (wilwood brakes, tubular arms, tons of big chevy stuff, carbed ls conversion,ez-efi) and i canīt sell that stuff cause we are hard bound to historic car laws here. if you have a car that could not pass smog tests it needs to be historic (25years or older and rare) plus it has to be stock to be legal. people here usually tend to pee their pants when they buy a carb that is not stock.

P1sc on that motor will make 600 whp np. I had a p1sc on a 502 bbc. It made 9 psi and 660 whp on 92 octane. You will be working it a bit but I didn't have to over spin the blower.
