pcv vs naturally vented to catch can
pcv vs naturally vented to catch can A little different from the norm not being a LS engine but being a turbo related question ill ask your guys opinions. On my '13 ecoboost i want to run a catch can set-up since there prone to oil in the intercooler. On the pass side it runs from valve cover to intake manifold, said to be the "dirty side", the drivers side goes from valve cover to pre-turbo inlet tube as "clean side". Apparently the turbo side works as vacuum pre-boost, then shuts off and pass side takes over while in boost. There are catch cans that run from $120-$300 that utilizes the pcv system to what they call "suck off the bad stuff out of the engine", my question is, do i need to actually run all that or can i just naturally vent both valve covers to a catch can and cap-off the manifold and turbo inlet?
