Looking for some opinions from the experienced FI guys
My plan is to build a 408 stroker out of an LQ9. Forged internals and built to handle boost. As you can imagine I've been doing tons of research as to which route to go for boost. Procharger, turbo, twin turbo. I'm not in any way interested in nitrous.
I guess the opinions I want are based on this... Its a summer car, only driven a couple times a week (mostly weekends), during nice weather. I would love to get 800+ hp out of a setup. Completely streetable and a few trips to the track every year. Basicly a solid 10 second street car.
So with that said, and a built 408 LQ9 Stroker, which direction would you go for boost?
My vote is a F1-A Procharger but I like my procharged car...
With FI, while it was fun and I love the Noise and how streetable it was. I ended up going turbo after all. I was worried about lag with a turbo car so a procharger seemed right for me. Im not going to bad mouth them
Bc they can will make big power for a very fun street car. It just ended up being not what I expected from a procharged car. So I sold it all and
Went turbo. I am very happy I made the switch. I can honestly say I'll
Never go back. I spend money on correctly matching parts together and I have Zero turbo lag. It feels twice as strong as it did with the blower and pulls like a freight train. In the end I spend less money to make more power, so I have no complaints! As far as install go there's vendors that make bolt in turbo kit that are just as easy as a procharger to install. Too each is there own. My adivce to you is try and get a ride in both cars and that should help you make a decsion
