Noob needs advice Ok I need some help pointed in the right direction. The car I will be using is a foxbody mustang hatch back full interior car with a built glide with 1.76 gear and trans brake. The goal is to run mid 9s and be run on the street on E85
This is where I need help. I don't mind to spend money where it's needed!
The engine I want to use is a junkyard 4.8 because I can get one cheaper

Cam
Injecter size
Rear gear
I'm not looking to run nitrous

S475, its cheap and will get you mid 9s.
Any cam better than stock will work great. LS6 cam is a good start.
80 lb siemens deka injectors are $340 on ebay.
3.73 or lower.
There isn't a magical formula for 9s. Hundreds of people come here thinking there is this 'recipe' that you have to have to run 9s. You can do it all motor, with spray, a supercharger, a turbocharger... or any combination thereof. There are about 500 turbos out there that will make enough power to run 9s. There are about 500 different cam grinds that will work with any of those 500 turbos to run 9s. There is 250,000 possible combinations right there. Add in injector size and rear gear and things just get silly.
Pick a turbo capable of ~800 HP. Pick a cam somewhere between stock and specifically N/A oriented. Pick injectors that'll flow 800+ HP. Pick a rear gear that won't have you hitting the limiter before you go through the traps.

Hahaha thank joe I been doing a lot of reading on here but there's a lot of 5.3 combos but a few 4.8 I seen but I could be wrong. I want good parts not junk. Thank you for the help I just don't want to strike out too badly Thank you!

The S475 is my recommendation to anyone doing their first build. Cheap reliable and very capable. 80 lb Siemens deka i injectors are hard to beat for the price and support lots of power. Lots of people have been having luck with the On3 and GT45 turbos from eBay. They're around $300 give or take 50 and you can hit 600 wheels with them. If you decide to go that route, let me know. I have a 76mm On3 and a waste gate/bov combo for sale all brand new.
