new tranny and rear end break in??
new tranny and rear end break in?? im replacing my broke t56 and stock rear end with a t56 mag and a moser 9" and was wondering how i should treat it on break in and if i should change my fluids after a certain amount miles after? or any suggestions
Was also wondering how common breaking a trans and rear end at the same time is bc of to much power??

Im gonna have to disagree with shawnc16 ring and pinion breakin advice, new gears get up to temp very quickly cause of the friction from the r&p trying to true to each other. so its also real easy to overheat them.
my breakin process(which Ive used for used r&p successfully everytime as well) i drive them throughout the rpm range in 1st-3rd gear, but at max 30-50% throttle, for @ 15min at a time then let cool. do that @ 5 times. then @ 5 30min drives in all gears throughout rpm range (in as many gears as possible) at @ 60-70% throtttle.
then i drive it like i stole it a few 30 min blasts. change fluid and its done.
almost forgot, important to use engine brakeing as well during drives
