thanks Steve. I looked around and the turbine seems fine, nothing stuck to it or missing. As far as the ring/piston it seems to moves around in the bore freely if you know what i mean. the piston doesnt seem to be stuck to the rings at all. I hope its ok.

you better slide that piston out and check the rings sometimes the ring land cracks between the top ring and 2nd ring too. that looks like a lot of oil on the plug. what does the guide and stem look like on the valve.

You'd need to remove the turbine housing and inspect the wheel itself.

Any damage if any will be small though given the small pieces of metal missing.

But as above, the oil has come from somewhere, and it has come past the rings. But I hear ya that it looks as if they are ok from above.

It's just so difficult to say for sure, and removal is the only way.

keep in mind it was driven for about 15 miles home after this happened at the track.. but ya you guys are right to have me inspect the piston and turbine.
