Tonights drag runs (in the nines)
Brake, converter, gears, spool, axles, controller etc.
And that's fine. I'm having fun.
They weren't. I just wasn't moving the shift lever fast enough.
Tonight I just let it do the 1-2 shift.
Still bad wheel spin after the shift. But oh well.
I managed just shy of 114 in the 1/8 mile and that run was a 10.36 @ 119. Lifted to not get booted. Blazing 1.82 60 ft.
The crowd went wild.....
14.5 PSI
10.8:1 AFR
16 deg timing
TR6 plugs
E85
IAT was 140 at the finish line
Ron
remember you can double what you take off the 60' in et most of the time.. so get that down and your in the low 9's..
we seem to have around the same power going. I turn my boost down to 14psi to keep it where the math said 10's at 134.. went 10.05 at 136.. im getting my license next time at the track.. Only one more run.. And i got my mt pro's yesterday. If i can get my 60 down to the 1.4x i should run high 9's on the low boost combined with the new ported heads last week..
good job Ron.. keep having fun.
As you know, each time to the track is a learning experience.
Being my own tuner, the process is slow. As it should be.
I'm leaving the boost alone. And work on optimizing things from here.
I'm now ready to start my license runs too. Had one, but it lapsed a few years ago. Not really looking forward to wearing all the gear. It's a pain in the butt. Although it does make you "look" like a pro racer. :-)
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I could definitely see 8.90s with that sucked set on KILL!
But 9.30s and having it live a while will be a lot more fun.
You're much more on your way to besting your big block than you think.
6.23 @117.48
9.55 @ 147.83
lol they didnt appriciate that, as much as all the gear sucks its there for a reason.. Also having the only street car thats driven there and home on small tires to boot makes it worth while.. hopefully i will make my licence happen this weds..
We had a 16 car street machine shootout tonight. First real race we have had in quite some time.
I qualified mid pack with a 10.47 easing it until I hit senond to avoid tire spin.
I won my first race with a 10.27 @ 127. Went 114 in the eighth on that one.
Then got paired with a 9.60 car and said WTF.......ha!
I still left soft, but was way more aggressive.

Feel free to give me crap about the light...it was a pro .4 tree. And yeah, another crowd pleasing launch.
And the data log.

I can fix those rich areas. That's all the way to 10.4:1 on the guzoline scale.
Crossed at 6800. Martin, the cam works!
I'm impressed!
Ron
that run was a 9.50 with a good launch. you had that guy covered after the launch.
do you think it whould hold with an old school set of 29 by 9 slicks after the shift.
Prepare to continue being impressed, Ron. You've built one hell of a car that's capable of smashing your previous personal best on a measly 15 PSI. That turbo is just starting to get happy, too.

Finish bologna sandwich....
Take another sip of desired beverage through small straw....

Mash gas pedal.....
Just razzin' ya man....good times already for sure and it sounds like you're
not even 50% dialed with the max potential of the current combo.....
:-)
IDC touched 110% at the finish line.
That will come down with a leaner mixture. And I need to add some base fuel pressure. I'm at 56 psi now.
I'm learning. It's kind of a whack-a-mole process.
Ron
