Default 24 or 58 tooth

i got a 98 6.0 block.what tooth do i need to use if i dont use cam sensor or whats the diffrence?please help
i have 2 cranks one of each

It depends on if your trying to use the factory computer to control it, or one of the aftermarket systems. The factory stuff is broken up as Gen III and Gen IV. Gen III = 24 tooth; Gen IV = 58 tooth.

I know the Holley can handle either one, and I think most of the other aftermarkets can too.

Well your going to have to use some sort of cam sensor even if its a distributor. 24T if you use front cover LS2 timing gear if you use the 58T you will want the later LS3 front timing gear.

holley can do either, have you ordered your wiring harness yet?

yes have engine and trans harnesses.

well you would have had to specify witch reluctor setup you were using when you ordered the harness...

24x crank uses black crank pickup on the block and 1x cam pickup on the back of the cam in the engine block or a 1x cam gear front read setup swapped in

58x uses a grey sensor on the block and front read pickup for the cam, 4x event gear

they both use a cam sensor its just in different locations.

look on the box of your holley wiring harness if it says part number 558-102 you need a 24X crank or 558-103 is 58X
