I'd say at least 1500.

Really general question but stock 5.3's been known to handle 1000 hp.

What year 5.3? 3rd gen rods and pistons will handle probably 800-850. 4th gen have been known to stay in one piece at 1200. I know of one 5.3 with stock bottom end and ARP rod bolts probably making 1300whp, so 1500 or so at the crank.

I wouldn't push it much over 750whp if you want to keep it alive for more than a year or two.

Them motors can be bought for next to nothing. If your going to forge it in October, turn the boost up and see what she'll do. People overthink this stuff too much..

im running 9.70s at the track on pump gas on my every day tune on a completely stock 5.3 except for a cam and valve springs. assess your goals and go from there. if your looking to make 700 horse dont touch the motor. if your looking to make more then consider doing rod bolts etc.
