Default Surging at Idle

I have been noticing more surging at idle.
And I think it is because of the NX MAF ends. (No screen)
Would that cause it, and can I tune it out?? Only other thing different is I vent to atmosphere.

You need to up your MAF numbers under 6khz with edit if you have it. If you have atap or EFIlive look at what your MAF was idling at and with the ATI it will be much lower. When it tries to adjust the idle ltfts it will go way to lean and try to die, then it will come back up and richen again and will keep doing it forever..

If thats what your car is doing thats whats needs to be done, multiply you MAF table up to 6khz by 115% and that will get you idling and keep your part throttle ltrims in line - especially cell 4.

So its an blower issue not the screen. And you are correct, the idle goes up then down.

My LTFT's are fine at part-throttle about -3.
I was wondering why my LTFT's went really negative when decelerating, all that extra air.

I hate messing with the MAF. But I will try it. Thanks.

To answer your question it isnt as bad with the screen in, but you will max out the MAF very easy with the screen in..

Well, does it need to learn it? The idle still surges. But LTFT's at idle are much better. Less negative. But part-throttle LTFT's when from -2 to -12

should be better right away, look at your some of your logs at idle and compare the MAF flow rares between the blower and N/A, you may not have to change as high as 6khz. It takes a little fooling with and since you have a cam you will have to watch the IAC counts.

Its just something you have to fool with, another solution is a bigger bypass or a dual bypass like others have done. So far I havent had to fool with the bypass on any of the cars I have done and have got them to idle pretty well, a couple even had fairly large cams.

Well, never could get rid of all the surging. So decided to install the stock front half of the maf which has a screen. Idles nice now.

Will having the screen in be an issue??
