Need help, why didnt i hook off the line?

Default Need help, why didnt i hook off the line?

Ok id really aporeciate if anyone can maybe give me some advice to my problem i ran into at fl2k, a month ago i was at the track on pro stars and m&h race master 275's, lightly used off my dads car..so my car issa turbo ls1 with full suspension besides one part..so anyways i was able to leave off like 5lbs if boost on the trans brake and like 18psi in the tires and dead hooked pullin a 1.5 60'...so now getting ready for fl2k i put on some billet spec beadlocks, same size rim and then i switched tona hoosier QTP 28x11.5, also lightly used off my dads car, and then i added a spohn anti roll and pre loaded it...so i did two runs and both of them i blew the tires off the line leavin on 7-8lbs not hooking at allll and had a tire pressure of 15psi...now im thinking either the track was shittier than the month before when i ran a 1.5 60' and dead hooked, or maybe the tires were bad (but they got sticky and were throwin rocks everywhere), orrr i think my anti roll i put on may have been loaded wrong and not allowed my rear to work and let me hook...what you guys think? because it doesnt make sense how a better tire cant handle what a radial can...thanks guys

What are your rear shocks set at? were you hopping at all? Assuming you have an Auto maybe loosen up the rears until you bite. How are other people hooking that day?

well i dont even have coil overs..just bilsteins and strano springs but they cut a 1.5 before..and there were alotta trucks and street cars so i know they didnt prep the track..i mean no one else was really hookin up to great but some cars did

Lots of people were spinning this weekend. All the breakage and oil downs were ridiculous!

that was insane lol sittin the pit for 2 1/2 hrs...but yea i didnt know if it was just me or others were spinning to

yeah if many others are having difficulty hooking then it's probably the track more than anything. I recently went with some Viking DA coilovers on all 4 corners and what a difference it makes. Consider the switch as it will give you some adjustment to try and make it better for varying conditions.

The springs and shocks combination definitely isn't helping you at the track at all especially when it is hot and nasty out like it was this weekend. The two cars I was messing around with this weekend were hooking pretty good. The one was running consistent 1.3X 60ft times and other was in the 1.5X 60ft range.

The track conditions definitely weren't ideal but we were able to make them work pretty well.
