which head gasket with d1sc??
which head gasket with d1sc?? have a ls1 motor stock crank, rods, arp 2000 rod bolts, mahle power pak 3.905 forged pistons with -4cc valve reliefs and rings.... installing advanced inductions 317 heads cut down to 65cc combustion chambers with a 232/238 .605 lift cam speced by phil at AI... Installing a d1sc charger only gonna run around 10 psi to keep the bottom end safe but trying to get 10.5/1 or as close to it as i can wanna stay on 93 pump gas and this is a daily driver only gets driven on nice days... which cometic mls head gasket should i go with?? .030 .036 etc... ???
As far as quench is concerned the .036" is fine. Most forged setups run zero deck rather than .008" like stock.
On 93 and 10PSI I'd feel more comfortable at 10:1. 10.5 is pushing the need for meth or E85.
I like me some safety margin.
.036" gasket should get you 10.34 SCR. Assuming zero deck.
.040" gasket should get you 10.24 SCR. Assuming zero deck.
.051" (LS9 gasket) will net you 9.99:1 Assuming zero deck.
.051" will get you 10.17:1 at .008" out of the hole.
.040" will get you 10.44:1 at .008" out of the hole.
Either way I like the LS9 gasket the best.

yeah i just went ahead and bought the ls9 gaskets... figured stock .006ish out of the hole since its stock crank and rods with stock forged replacement pistons, -4cc valve reliefs, with 65cc combustion chambers put me right under 10:1 cr on the compression calculator with stock bore and stroke
