Spoke with lil Jon.

Glad I did!

The S400 96x88 (84mm turbo) with the T4 flange (1.25) sounds like it will do the job!

Anyone else running this turbo?

as for size and 88mm id go with the pt8847H probably as i only have room for a small frame, nooo room for bw's, there turbos are just to big although i lovem
may also go to a t6 kit and id use a BW

Like we spoke about on the phone today... the 84mm billet compressor version is being ran on Mark Friedrich's car and makes 923 to the tire on pump and meth.... I didn't realize this was you until just now..

Your goal of 1k to the tire through a manual trans I think is very doable.... might take a couple more PSI of boost than marks car took to do it because of the difference in cubic inch.... but the driveline loss difference alone is going to show up big at the rear tire.... I would be in contact with Matt Happel ( Denmah) about putting a tune in it for you...

Do you have a camshaft for the motor yet?

Thanks again for the info. Can you get me a physical diameter size on the body of that turbo? I need to make sure it is not too big. Looking at it, that T6 flange would never fit, but I think the T4 will assuming the body is not too large.

I haven't picked a cam yet. Been asking around about it, and everyone is giving me quite different specs.

Denmah knows his stuff, but where is he located? I can't afford to drive halfway across the nation for a tune when the time comes. Also, I would have to make sure he has experience with the LT1 even if I am running an LS1 PCM. My last tuner was very knowledgable on the LS1, but he never seemed to get my tune right, and I think the LT1 stuff was what threw him off.

Denmah doesn't have any experience with LT1 cars, so "no" on that idea.

I would like his recommendation, however he only offers LSX cams on his website, so I am guessing he would not be able to help me out.

I am moving the radiator forward a bit, so behind the radiator. I should have a bit of room. Re-measuring things, I may even have room for the T6 flange afterall.

so stand up rad mod? I was really following your thread. im also running a 6 speed and was debating on a pt88 or 7675. but the huge housing and the extra cost for a T4 almost seem to offset the cost difference on going with a BW

Yes, stand up radiator mod planned. Borg Warner makes some excellent turbos. I like the one Lil Jon picked out for me. I want to do a little more research and talk to more than just one vendor before I make up my mind for sure.

Precision was originally my first choice also. I believe them to be good turbos. But I can't ignore some problems people are having with them. I think there are more precisions being used on this forums than other turbos. I think this may also be a reason they are perceived as having more problems than others when in reality many on here are quick to jump on the band wagon when the actual failure rate may be the same or less than others. That being said, I won't deny that some have definitely had issues, and I know their customer service has been less than stellar, so it made me want to explore other options.

Supra and the foreign guys from what I have researched say that Garrett turbo have superior quality and in a lot of cases performance over other brands such as Turbonetics. After this was stated from so many non related threads and people I tend to believe it.

I am leaning towards the Borg Warner at this point.

After all that lol!

You see more precision units because they are compact, expect to pay 2x as much for. Precision unit that can handle what a Borg can.

Well, when you cannot physically fit the huge size of some of these Borg units under the hood, you are left with looking at other options that will work.
