I have a feeling that the intake floor sits against the valley cover, so that should help stabilize the bottom of the intake. It definitely felt heavier and more solid than my FAST. We'll see when I get them side by side.
That's good to hear. I just find it strange that they never mentioned a word about FI.. You would think that if they where/did develop it to handle forced induction they would have mentioned it. I understand the market isn't massive for such a combination but there is defiantly a market.

I'd say it would be foolish not to consider the boosted market. I'd say it is a fairly large one.

I made that point to them, and they listened, which if things work out, I should have my hands on one fairly soon.

It's going to work. FI won't be a problem. More concerned what, if anything I need to do, to install into a Y body C5/C6.

It looks like they've kept t a very low profile for a reason, the sensible reason would be to allow it to fit multiple platforms

Well I can say after seeing it first hand, there a few things I really like about it that make me thing it'll be a nice improvement. First are the runners. Compared to the others, the runner has a cleaner, straighter path to the intake valve and cylinder head. Remember, air like any other mass, doesn't like to change direction. So the work they did on the entry to the runners also looked good to me. Next is the extra space they added to the top of the intake to add to the overall volume of the plenum. This is a good thing, as it allows more air to be sucked or pushed into the engine.

This is just my take on it, I'm not an expert, but I'm excited to get my hands on one. I wish they'd offer a second lid option for the LS series of intakes for those of us with aftermarket rails.

It's going to be January before we see these, just like they said in the video at SEMA.

Right now the focus is on PRI, then it's Christmas/New Years, and then we should see it hit the market.

Really it's stupid for companies like that to bring product to big shows, only to tell customers it is several months away.

Really..are they just testing the water, or dont give a **** ?

If you're going to show something at a huge show...at least have it available for the public to buy just after the show.

I agree. Think about the marketing aspect of it. You have SEMA, which is the largest of all car shows, and generates a huge amount of traffic and buzz at the show, as well as on the net, then you have PRI, which brings in the more hardcore enthusiast. You would think that you would have full production going so that once PRI ended, you would have it available for the holiday buying season and winter rebuilding season.

Speaking from a manufactures point, I'd like to add something to what's being said above. My company does PRI every year for 20+ years. Most years we have a product that's well into the development process but all we have available are prototypes that come back and fourth for revising.

If we can get the product cleaned up enough and presentable for PRI in DEC. than you can bet it's going. After spending $30k-80k sometimes on development you sure as anything want it at the biggest display market for your current and future customers to get a preview. Whether there was Sema/PRI or not it's most likely that that product just wasn't ready until next year.

And just to add, one of the biggest traditions of these shows is for companies to unveil new products. Our customers come to our booth and the first thing they ask is what's new for next year?

Nothing wrong with unveiling a product before its release. We're talking about it aren't we? How many people will find out about it through conversations like this one? They're building hype, and it will sell very well when they release it. A couple months is not a long time...
