Default LSA Supercharger question

Can anyone tell me what the small 'tube' is for on the left underside of the base unit. It stands proud of the cylinder head seal. I can see it going anywhere, there's not obvious return and it doesn't have a seal.

Is it just a locating boss or does it carry oil, water or air?

Was wondering because, other that this the unit happily sits on an old LS1. Port alignment isn't much of an issue, as it's only the bottom of the cathedrals that aren't covered. A really simple plate (of filling that part of the port) would mean that the unit could be used on an LS1/LS2. Has this been done yet?

Thanks
