5 gallons of meth last me an entire summer and I run 100% straight meth. Most of my methanol would evaporate from the heat if the car sits out in the sun.

I assumed they also charge you for the drum cost. Which isnt cheap.
Ever tried looking for one locally? I didnt know we have a race gas place around here untill i was looking at other cheaper alternatives for boost juice.

Now I drive 10 minutes away and fill up my 5 gallon container for abour $3-4 a gallon.
By straight meth, I came to think you're about talking about M1. $400 some dollars for a drum of M1 is cheap. Wanna talk about expensive... we have 2 54 gal drums of Q16 sitting for the race car

I'm just going to mix a couple quarts of BOOSTane in each tank which gets me 98 octane and run 50/50 meth also. Spoke with the guys at BOOSTane yesterday seems like really good people and product.

What is the difference between this "M1" methanol and other methanols ?

over here in the UK 99.9% pure methanol chemical/medical grade methanol is cheaper than any pump fuel ! ( only caveat there is our pump fuel is ******* expensive with race fuels 5x the price of that !! )

Why are people saying methanol is so expensive over in the US ? If anything it should be dirt cheap too

M1 is $8 a gallon roughly for a 54 gallon drum or $400 total. 87 pump is $1.79/gallon right now or $$179 for 100 gallon drum. 93 is only $2.29/gallon so it's still much cheaper than M1. How does this not equate out as cheaper than M1? So eccentially M1 is 4 times as expensive as 93 octane.

your pump gas must be stupid $$ or your country has found a super cheap way to produce 99% pure meth.

BTW M1 over hear is 99% pure but it's made by a racing company called VP fuels.

Jeeesus.

A 40gal or 205litre drum of methanol from a local chemical supplier to me is around £160, ie £0.80 per litre
Although they dont always sell to the public. If you buy 1000L cube it gets even cheaper.

Or an egay example...even cheaper again

A gallon of 93PON petrol ( imperial gallon, 4.55 litres ) is around £5.46, ie £1.20 per litre, 91 is a little cheaper.

Race fuel, here is one UK supplier along with prices. Astronomical is one word to describe, but prices are same all over the UK

http://www.trackstuff.co.uk/

So again....what is the difference between this M1 methanol at huge prices vs the other 99.9% pure methanol from chemical suppliers ?

I occasionally add up to 4 gallons 100LL AvGas to the 87 octane my bulk tank.
Never run over 1%, afraid of poisoning my wideband O2 sensors.
Anybody know just how much AvGas is safe to run ?
.

So far 1 gallon per hundred has not caused me grief, but that is only bringing me up to 87.1 octane, which aint much improved.
