Default junk yard 5.3 help advice please

Considering a 5.3 turbo in a sn95 mustang
My goal is 1000 rwhp
Car has a bs3
Th400 trans already

Going to go with a pt88 turbo on E85

So what year 5.3 or should i go 4.8?
Should i change rods and pistons to be safe?
Stock crank???
What intake & throttle body?

I know to do all arp studs/bolts

Thanks for any advice. I've read for hours others posts. Some are older so with everyones testing what worked

If I were honestly going for 1000rwhp I wouldnt even consider a stock engine. Id go with a built one from one of the sponsors on here. A stockish engine might make the #'s for a short time but It probably wont last long enough to even get used to the power. Do it right the 1st time when shooting for hp at that level.

Everything I've read here says the 2005+ 5.3's have the better stock stuff. I suppose if your hood allows it, the truck manifold would be the better of the stock offerings. Being boosted, I'm not sure if the stock throttle body is an impediment or not. Stock crank seems to hold up just fine from all the reading. Like the other gent says, If longevity is even part of your evaluation, you might step up to some of the hardier offerings. Your cam, tune and boost levels are probably the determining factors on reaching 1000 rwhp. For how long? Whom knows.

If you're planning on just replacing the JY engine with another JY as they pop, then you can probably have a lot of fun.

The wiseco piston/callies compstar rods are about $1,250 for both. You can buy two complete JY motors for that typically
