Nitrous or Turbo Setup? HELP!!!
I was about to send my 241 heads to get ported/polished and milled for the nitrous setup but i remembered that I have 317s as well, and i hear the 317s are good for boost... Can I port and polish my 317s as well if i do go boost or is it not worth it? Right now I have a ls1 with bolt ons... Dont wanna keep refilling bottle every weekend neither... Anyways what are yalls opinions?

Dont have the nitrous setup yet, was going to order it after i swapped the 241 heads but i was leaning towards a turbo setup instead... What heads would go best with the turbo setup? Budget is around 3k 3500 pushing it...

Okay since i made up my mind last night im going turbo setup with the 241s, only going to boost up to 10-12lbs cause i dont wanna stress the ls1 too much... Im in between the borg warner 83mm or 96mm...which would be best for the ls1?

If your only going with 10-12lbs, $230 china Gt45 would be my vote. They seem to have a great track record. Wouldn't touch your current long block, leave the heads alone. Factory head bolts gaskets and all are just fine at your power levels. Save up for a trans/fuel/rearend. The turbo and engine are the cheap parts!

Make sure to get someone to tune it conservatively cause ls1 pistons are very weak. #7 hates boost apparently. To rich is just as bad as being lean so be careful with the tune. If it was me I would not run more than 8lbs on 93 with a stock block ls1. The ringlands are very weak and will break even if your not seeing knock, trust me. If you wanted to save yourself a future headache pick you up a JY 5.3 long block. You could sell the ls1 to help fund a better setup. My ls1 is on the engine stand right now waiting for forged internals and my l33 5.3 is still chugging along at 15psi on E85 now
