Blow off valve question I'm in the process of installing the on3 turbo kit on my 98 ls1 Trans am. On the blow valve it has a port on top and it says to run to a vacuum/boost source. I'm new to this whole turbo thing, but is it suppose to be pulling the valve open at idle? Doesn't seem right since it would be pulling in unfiltered air
The line should run from that port to a vacuum source directly off intake but the spring is not the right one if it pulling the port open. You need a spring to match the vacuum at idle example my 6.o LQ9 pulls 18-19 in at idle and with an 8lb spring it pulls open and looses boost. With an 11lb spring it functions perfect.

On a supercharged application you'd want it to be open at idle. Turbo...not so much.
Isnt really a big deal if it is, but generally it would be run tighter than that. But yes if open, it could draw in a small amount of unfiltered air
