Default Quick Lq4 s475 cam question.

I'm building an Lq4 and throwing on an s475 , t6 1.32 a/r.. Hotside will be flipped truck manifolds, 2 1/4" pipe, split to the turbo. Original plans were to leave the stock cam and see what it does. Looking for around 600 rwhp. I came across a brand new comp cam for dirt cheap. Cam's a reverse split 218/214 on a 114 lsa. Question is run the stock cam or comp? What will I gain by using the comp in terms of power and spool time?

Might as well use it if its cheap. Thats a very mild -12 degree overlap cam. Should make more power than the OEM cam IMO. Either will clear 600 easily. Impossible to guess at exact gains too many variables.

If all you want is 600-650 hp I really do not think you need such a large turbine housing. A T4 1.00 would do that with no problems and spool MUCH better. And if you make the turbine feed pipes 2" or 2.125" it would be even better.
That cam can work well also. And a 212°/212°/112° is always a great option.

I bought the 218/214 cam because I figured it was cheap enough that I'd use it in something. I already have the t6 turbo. All the reading I did pointed me towards that turbo for a 6.0l, with the thought of maybe upgrading down the road. I don't mind the idea of having it spool a little later as this is in a RCSB pickup and traction will definitely be an issue. I might be completely off base with this, but I also thought that the reverse split pattern would help spool the turbo quicker.

My goals are to put my truck into the high 10's and still have it half decent streetable. It's currently running high 12's with around 390ish rwhp.
