boosted ls1 heads

Default boosted ls1 heads

What are the best heads to run in a ls1 with a forged rotating assembly. I have 243s cnc from tsp, should i go with them,or look into afrs or trick flows. Not on a budget either.

We flew a set of PRC 317's (TSP's heads), and they actually flow better than advertised. Don't have the CFM's with me at the moment. I'm sure the porting is the same for 243's and 317's from them, as they're practically the same head with different combustion chambers.. And they haave a fairly thick deck height as well. I don't see a problem with running them on your motor, unless you're wanting to drop compression. Just installed those PRC 317's on a forged LS1 a couple weeks ago in fact.

Mast black label small bore LS3 heads.

How much boost? Turbo or blower? Pump gas or race gas?

I wouldn't worry about heads so much. The difference between JY heads and AFR heads on a turbo car is just a matter of turning up the boost..

I hand ported 317s on my 365" ls2 forged. I plan on making up words of 1200hp out of them. On a side note, I would be interested in buying your tsp 243s if you are considering a better head. I need them for a customers n/a build. PM me if you want to sell them.
