Default turbo lm7 noob Qs

Hey guys. I have decided on turboing my 06 lm7 engine for my 93 fox notch with 04 cobra IRS.

Looking for 500 rwhp which is easily achievable on all stock components, just larger 80 lb deca injectors. It is mainly a street car but will be road raced occasionally.
But I do love a nasty sounding exhaust. I know you can get that with a tight LSA, but that is bad for boost. I know guys like the ls9 cam, but its not very rowdy. It is very budget friendly though. I dont mind spending the 200 extra to have a nice sounding rowdy cam.

my questions are:
Can I flip the truck ex manifolds around and weld my own turbo pedestal/s to it?
What size charger for a single? What size charger for twins?
What specs on the cam should I be looking for to have good flow to the turbo but also a choppy, snarly sounding exhaust note?

You want an LSA charger not a turbo(s). You're not going to get a gnarly exhaust note out of a super mild turbo car anyways. Also 80lb injectors are over kill for 500whp

lsa supercharger is MONEY. Not dropping 3k on a 300 dollar engine. Turbos are the way to go on these guys. I have heard some good exhaust notes on these turbod lm7s. Dont know their specs.
Good to knwo the 80s are too much, Can get something smaller.

this one sounds pretty good.

this one has lump to it too, doesnt osund tuned. Dont knwo how well it runs.

3k? were in the hell are you looking? Ive seen them go for $750 on here. Adapters plates are like $450. Imo ive never heard a turbo car id call "gnarly" they are all quiet to me.. unless of course you dump it.

Check the for sale section. Those and the ZL1 chargers pop up often.

First clip is with exhaust. 3" exhuast W/X-pipe and magnaflow bullets in the rear for "mufflers" no cats.. This is basically a straight through exhaust system.

Second clip is dumped about 2' after the turbos

N/A.. Absolutely no comparison.

yup in NA your 280 sounds very raspy and snarly, great sound. All those higher freuqncies are cut out in your tubro videos. Still sounds good.

What kind of power can be made with the take off supers?

I do like a turbo as well since it can get very good mileage. I plan on doing a few long road trips with this car. Cant see that happening with a super?

The factory GM S/C will most certainly make 500whp. You can absolutely build a DD with a S/C.. Besides packaging reasons there is a reason almost all auto manufacturers use them for "mild hp" cars. YOur biggest problem with the S/C on a road course would be heat soak but a good I/C should solve that problem.

Here is a novi 2000 C5 corvette me and a buddy just did. You can still get that rasp with a S/C car

i read the thread of a guy making adapter plates around 450.

These LSA chargers, they come with A2W intercoolers built in?
So around 400 for the SC, 450 for the adapter plates. 1k is good, plus some injectors and tuning. I read there may be front drive alignment issues?
The LSA charger interests me as it seems its a good, cheap and compact way to hit 400+ rwhp.

Related, the LSa charger has that whole big hat deal. Can i plumb the air in from the back of my cowl intake?

What is the go to for tuning a stock ECU? Dont trust the mail order tunes.

The charger will run you $750 minimum by itself. The adapters are extra. Im not sure if they come with the A2W built in. My knowledge on S/C is minimal at best i just think for what you are trying to achieve (500whp, road track, exhaust note) a smallish S/C would be a good answer. If you plan on going with HP tuners i HIGHLY suggest you find a local tuner over mail order.

Doesn't look like it. I want to say the LSA comes with an A2W setup from the factory though.

The lid for the LSA supercharger has an A2W intercooler brick built into it.
