Default Lsa Pistons in Stock Ls3 Block

Hello all hope i dont get flamed on my first post. I have a l92 block and lsa supercharger that i would like to marry together. Ive read several posts on guys doing it with stock bottom ends etc etc. However I work at a gm dealership and can get a set of lsa pistons pretty cheap. Would it be worth it to put the dished lsa pistons in for my build or should i stay with the higher comp stockers. i only plan to run the stock boost from the supercharger not looking to go crazy. Thanks in advance

I would stay with the higher compression pistons.

Even with a discount would still be shelling out a fair amount, the LSA pistons are cast.

Because of the higher compression you won't need to pulley it up ( or as much ).

How cheap? A set of aftermarket pistons are cheap and can get you exactly what you want. IMO it doesn't make sense to compromise when you can get what you want for not a lot of money.. Especially when the motor is apart.

I can get a set of lsa pistons and pins for 350.00. I dont think thats bad. Just not sure if i should stay with the higher compression. or drop it down since the lsa pistons are made for boost.

Wiesco pistons are like $550/600 don't waste your money on stock stuff.

What are your goals?

If you want to make "huge" power maxing out the blower (like 700+ RWHP) then I think you'll need to run less compression to get more boost, and still need E85 or meth tune.

However, if looking for less I don't see any value in doing this, as you will be able to run less boost and make a little more power than stock LSA due to the compression.

I'd put that money into a better cam, oil pump, etc. And as a matter of fact did just that as I just built a L92 w/ LSA blower haha. Hoping to have it in car and tuned in next few weeks, goal is 600 RWHP w/ BTR Stage 3 on 93 octane, stock pulleys. My tuner is very conservative though so we'll see... but looking at LS3 w/ LSA builds it's definitely doable. That's your best reference for results w/ high compression, LS3 is 10.9 vs our L92 10.5.

This one really depends on how you are going to approach the build in general.
If you have a slightly used LS3 and have a shelf set of new LSA pistons are you going to do any machine work to see if all is well or are you hoping for a drop in situation?
Completely tearing down an engine and putting back together is a big project and you have to ask yourself how far do you want to go?
It could be an opportunity to put in that good rotating assembly you always wanted as a foundation for future mods.
If your going to run the O.E. blower on a non O.E. blower car it's going to need a custom tune in it anyhow so you should stick with the LS3/L92 stuff and tune accordingly for simplicity.
Save the $ you were going to spend on the pistons and someone to install them and get your heads CNC'd or that camshaft you wanted.
If your going to go into the short block on any modern engine get some good aftermarket parts in it.
