2013 LS + Turbo... What MAF?

Default 2013 LS + Turbo... What MAF?

I'm trying to keep my build fairly stock but I want to make sure I'm not cutting too many corners here. This is what I have....

71 Chevelle SS (former big block)
Turbo 400
3.73 (will change to 3.08s later)
2013 LS LMG Engine (not installed yet)
Planning on a VVT delete and custom turbo cam (DOD deleted already)
Twin 58-62 mm turbos (not purchased yet)
Running E85
Larger injectors and upgrade fuel system

I was planning on running a speed density setup but my tuner told me to keep the O2's and MAF since the Gen4 engines are better able to run high horsepower with them. It was common to delete those things on a Gen3 but now it's not advised.

Since I'm being told that I need to run an MAF will the stock work ok or should I upgraded to something different?

You don't NEED to run a MAF. You can still convert to speed density if you want, its just that the newer ones have better scaling and don't top out easily like the older ones.

The scaling... is there a limit? I'm looking to run a max of 1000 HP with the twins. The motor comes stock with about 330 HP so that seems like a stretch for the MAF to keep up.

Is anyone out there using an MAF on Gen4 LS turbos???

I would check the Pcm diagnostics and tuning section with this topic. There are guys that do it with FI but from what i have read its not very popular for use in FI.
I seem to read more people are tuning SD
