LS3 Turbo/Cam Build I posted this same question over in the 5th Gen camaro section but didnt get much of a response. im new to this forum so i hope that doesnt upset any of the rules about posting or what not...
im hoping this side has more people who might have some ideas and helpful input for me
So..I just ordered a turbonetics single turbo kit. my current mods are 231/239 115 LSA Comp Cam,1 7/8 headers, CAI, power bond25% under drive, Melling Oil pump and the car has previously been dyno tuned at a shop down in Florida.
from my understanding my cam has +5 degrees of overlap which i'm told it is far too big/ has too much overlap and will not work with a turbo application like the one i ordered...
my main goal is to get the kit installed and running without blowing anything up and likely run 5-10 psi, as i build my confidence in a FI setup...
My intentions are to go through someone for remote tuning( dont know who?) open to any suggestions..
I've had shops tell me they don't like to deal with customer builds...and also to do it right the first time which I surely appreciate, haha.
but would like to run this cam if at all possible.
If i have to change cams in the future to optimize, i will.
Im new to Forced induction so thats why i am here. and im trying to get a feel for if im in over my head or not..
is this "too much" cam for what im trying to accomplish? i really want to progress forward with the build but the thought if swapping the cam again is making me fret over it a little
i have also purchased a ZL1 Fuel pump and plan to purchaseID850cc injectors (pending advice).
Any help .. advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
