Building for turbo?
Yea If I do pistons and rods, I would also need machine shop work. If it were only $1000 for extra security I would have no problem. That 1000 quickly turns into 25-3000 though lol.
Not sure where they rate at for a boosted app, but WS6 store has Scat 6.100 with 7/16 capscrew in .927/.944 for 283... got to be a better fastener and better rod for not much more money than the rod bolt upgrade cost right?
Problem is, either way if I did that it would be going to the machine shop. For the price of machining and parts, I might as well just get a new block and do the parts. That's why im not sure if I should even bother

Wiseco drop-in 5.3 pistons are $750, and as long as the tune is good, its normally the rods that bend first. Bad tune, it'll be either a rod or a ring-land (or both). Water injection will keep the cast pistons alive to 4-digit numbers. The Gen 4 rods live a lot longer than most people ever expect them to, but usually bend a little bit over time. A lot of the 8-second guys pull their rods and notice they are a little bent after 50+ passes.
By the time you get forged 5.3 rods and pistons (.927 wrist pins), you're still spending $1000 after shipping, and before machine work.
