ZL1 blower with LS3 heads alignment pin question
So, like many others, I happened across a ZL1 blower and decided to put it on an LS3 headed engine I was about to start building up. I didn't notice until today that there is an alignment pin or dowel on the blower and after some google searching, it looks like the LSA heads have a dimple drilled to correspond. Obviously, the LS3 heads don't have this. I am assuming it is just for alignment or locating purposes. Is there an easy way to remove this, cut it down, or another solution. I have looked around and haven't seen anybody mention this. I can easily buy some LSA heads and I may do that if I need to, but I have two sets of LS3 heads sitting around already.

That was my assumption, but I have learned to ask before you start cutting. How do you like the supercharger on your SS? This build is going into a second gen Firebird, but I had thought about picking one up for my G8.

I did an LS9 cam and Brian tooley springs at the same time. Car drives like stock and gets relatively ok fuel mileage for the mods. It's the best bang for your buck blower out there. I love it. Probably low 500whp on stock pulley

just recently happened across a tool Lingenfelter sells to correctly drill that locating dowel. If you search their site for "dowel" it will come up. If you want to do it right there the tool for it.
I have no idea how necessary it is though.
