Some good discussion, looks like I may be going with the Borg Warner s369SXE after all. What would you all suggest for a/r? I am also thinking of going twin scroll. The options seem to be .91 or 1.0

For what you're doing, I would think the .91 would be best. You need instant torque to blaze the tires!

Hell, if I was you, I would choose the S361SX-E with the bigger turbine wheel. You don't need massive power. You need torque to spin tires!!! Let the HP numbers fall where they may...

The biggest thing holding me back from going with that small of a turbo from what I have heard and was told is fear of over spinning it.

I can't see needing 750-800hp either. Buddies 100% stock 6.0 (down to the valve springs) @ 10lbs made 650 ftlb at 2900 rpm with a $280 china T4 .68 76/65 turbo. I'd think something like that would better suit a drift car? What RPM range do you play in?

I usually drive between 2500-6000 but the power up top is necesary for longer banked tracks like the video above. More torque as well as power versatility across the rpm is desired for modulation required to gain more grip without droping out of power or "drift".

With the lag in the t6 setup it was all or nothing. The only modulation i was able to do was through my clutch which inevitably killed it fast.

I am hoping that the sxe369 with a well made twin scroll manifold would allow for a good spool response as well as decent top end power. I also don't want a turbo that tops out looses power at 5000 rpm when 40% of the time i am on limiter.

I guess you could err on the side of caution and opt for a slightly smaller unit.

That would ensure faster spool and response, and it's easier to push a small unit hard than make a big unit work at the lower end. And hell if it doesnt allow you enough power, it's only $750 for a larger unit to slap into your turbine housing.

the 11 blade s366 is the biggest turd. The worst compressor wheel ever made for it. A cast wheel spools faster. Can't compare the gtx 11 blade to it. Had nothing but issues with power/ driveability on a duramax I was working on. Changed the 11 blade out, and no more issues. The sxe 369 will be the better all around turbo.

You already have a great turbo very capable of meeting your goals. Why spend more and guess with a new turbo?

Put a t4 housing on your S475 to suit your needs, re-design the hot-side and call it a day. You can get an S400 twin scroll housing in a .90, 1.00, 1.10, 1.25 A/R T4. Then have it machined it for the larger 96/87 wheel. Forced inductions or any major turbo vendor could do this for you relatively cheaply.

This is my S400 1.24 T4 machined for the 87/96 exh wheel. Should cost you about $260 total for the housing and machine work.

Well here's an update. I went with the SXE369. Made up my twin scroll divided manifold with a .91 A/R. Finishing up the build in the next couple months then heading to the dyno.

Going to be running ignite 116.

I got N/A like power out of my T4 PT6775 on my 5.7
that's the smallest single i've seen on an LS so far.
would start spooling around 1800 and 7-8psi around 28-3200RPMs
supposedly it's capable of mid 700s, I made 615@7psi

700+ is in ideal conditions running within the compressor map.

Such a small unit on a larger motor it will be screaming its **** off trying to keep up. I wouldnt even try and get near 700hp from it, it's probably going quite hard at even over 600.

Did you ever get this on the dyno?
