Full race to street car
I sold the mustang. Kept the engine and turbo system. I just brought a 2000 firebird and want to put the motor in that. This will be a full street car, so far I came up with this
-370ci engine
-4l80e trans
-stock computer w/ hp tuners
-wheels 20" rear, 19" front
My questions are the following. For the street:
1) Single or twin turbo
2) What turbo or turbos
3) is the 160# injectors still ok. I will be using pump gas not E85
4)What gear ratio. I will be on the highway with this car
It will be full interior and I will have a/c and cruise control as well.
BW's seem to work well. Give Jose at Forced Inductions a call (or LJMS).
160#'s on pump gas probably wouldn't be ideal.
I have a 4L80e w/ a 3.27 and 26" tall tires. 80 mph on the highway is about 2600 rpm.
2. you dont state power goals.
3. If the injectors are high impedance and of good quality, then the stock computer may handle them ok.
4. Somewhere in the low-mid 3.x range
