Converter help I'm using a 6.0 with a th400 in a chevelle. the motor itself is gonna be mostly stock besides cam, valve springs, and injectors. It's gonna have a 76mm turbo as well. I'm shooting for around 550-600rwhp for now. Eventually I will put more power in it. What is a good converter to use in the th400?
Hi Mike.....one person did give a good recommendation, but you should probably discount any post that ends with FTW as they are probably still living in mommy an daddy's house. Also, if someone says, this is the best sh$t, you should probably discount that comment too. In all honesty, you should probably call one of the big three on this site Yank, PTI or Circle D and tell them your wants, needs and driving habits. This is my .02 cents....

I think most "FTW"s stand for "for the win" not "F&@k the world." Quite a few guys run the $450 PTC at around 600 and even a little above 700 rwhp and love it. Don't get all caught up in slippage numbers either unless it's way out of sorts. I went PTC, hopefully soon we'll see how it acts.
Just got 450 ptc converter in my 5.3 s476r 69 camaro. Th400 converter works awesome. Drives great and when it boosts it flashed to around 4k and pulled hard from there. Only installed it a few hours ago. Can't go wrong with ptc.
Good to know. I'm rocking a 10" continental converter that was behind a nitrous motor. It's fairly loose but completely streetable. Would love to see pics of your setup!
