Tuning with a supercharger
What would be a good move as far as adding power at this point and before I get it tuned I'm not wanting to pull the heads off or put a cam in it at this point in time and don't even know what to expect out of my setup so what do you guys figure would be a good power adder before a tune?
Pulley drop or e85 has come to mind (assuming injectors can support) but to be honnest I'm a diesel guy, I could tell you want you'd need to do on a common rail cummins or duramax but when it comes to these LS motors I'm a total noob.
Mod list:
Magnuson mp112 w/ stock pulley 5-6psi
Kooks 1 7/8 x 3 headers/mids
3 inch magnaflow exhaust
42lb green top injectors
Lingenfelter fuel pump
Cold air intake
Spec stage 2 clutch
Lightened flywheel
few other random things
You can run E85/flex fuel sensor on that PCM w/ a little work.
Those 42's aren't big enough to run corn.
That's a baby blower and will run out of steam fast on a 6.0. I don't know what type of upgrades there are for heat exchangers but it might be worth looking into to help keep IAT's down.
LILJay is correct re: pulley ( its the less expensive option) but I would recommend an oversized crank pulley instead. Im assuming this is still the stock 6 rib set up. Reducing the pulley is a rather inexpensive & sure way to increase the blower speed however, you will open the path of "belt slip" as you go down that rabbit hole. The larger crank pulley will accomplish the same thing & save the headache later. YOU WILL want more boost & you will have belt slip doing it.
good advise to look into a better/ larger heat exchanger as your IATs will be the next battle.
Sorry to hear that a cam is out of the question. Thats where you can really pick up some fun. BTR is making some great PD Blower cams these days.
