Do I have to run a hobbs switch?

Default Do I have to run a hobbs switch?

I'm running triple 465 walboro pumps, 1 all the time and 2 on the switch. Well the switch crapped out today at the track and almost cost me my motor so I'm thinking about ditching it. What are everyone's thoughts?

Track only car? Probably won't hurt anything. I know a lot of street guys like the Hobbs switch so multiple pumps aren't on all the time and heating up the fuel..

You have 3 so it's hard to say, I'm interested in hearing other opinions about this too.

Get a fail-safe gauge. What switch did you run? Also 3 465s on all the time for the street is a lot of fuel to be heated up. Like above track only f it will be fine without one

Its pretty rare for a hobbs to go bad but obviously can happen. For the 2 pumps you want coming on later, I would run a hobbs on each. I have it set up that way and if one should fail, 2 of 3 pumps running will supply enough fuel for my setup not to get hurt.
My preference is racetronix hobbs switches. Seem to be great quality, oem style connectors, and I have never had one fail on me.

Well that sucks. Not what I like to hear. Running 3 of them on my car for a long time with no issues, but I guess any part can fail.
