Finally pulled the trigger.. high compression single turbo build with Huron Speed
also I feel that 15* is too much timing for 93 octane. Even a 9:1 engine at 12psi I see 9* or 10* is best. You run it at 9* and compare to (some higher number) compare torque line (the shape of the curve with 0 smoothing) and the EGT.
If there is Less than 3.5% difference in EGT and Torque with a smoother line at lower timing numbers then you know it needs less timing.
Hey guys just just wanted to update the thread. I'm currently at the point where I'm trying to work out the bugs in the setup. Got the exhaust work done. Sounds good. Having some issues though, I think tune related. The car runs fine till it gets hot and up to full operating temp. When that happens, the cruising afr drops to 11-12:1 from 14-15:1 and starts bucking bad while just trying to maintain speed. Also, I'm going lean at the top of each gear and my innovate gage is cutting boost and the car pops at the top of the gear. I've only done this a few times as I haven't driven the car much and I know something is wrong. I've seen the afr jump to 12.6:1 right when the pop happens. My boost cut is set to 12:1 afr. On top of those issues, I had my power steering return line melt and spray fluid all over everything including the air filter on the turbo. I've taken it off and cleaned it but something isn't quite right now. Idk if power steering fluid has been sucked in and has messed with sensors or what. Before the steering line issue and before the exhaust went on, you could hear the turbo spool loud and clear and now it's much much quieter. The car seems to idle and run differently as well. Ive got some hot side leaks I wanna try to alleviate also. It needs to go back to my tuner. Maybe I'll check things over and that's where I'll start. All in all, I'm happy with the Huron kit as far as fitment and performance, just got lots of other issues to iron out.
